Prime Quarter was a chain steak restaurant in the Wisconsin and Illinois area. There were charcoal pits in the dinning hall. You picked up your raw steak from the freezer. You can either cook your own steak on the pit or you can pay extra $2.00 for the chief to cook the steak for you.
This was an interesting concept. I guessed it would be a good place for family or group of friends to get together there and just like BBQ in the back yard, you have a lot of time to chat with your companions. However, I did not quite like it – I was alone. I preferred the chief cooked good steak. Without good preparation, the steak never tasted as good as it should be. I was not a good steak cooker. By the way, it was hot near the cooking pit.
